Joyous Kitchen is a social enterprise operated by Jubilee Ministries to provide meaningful work  for "at risk" youth.

Joyous Kitchen provides meals to go and services many organisations and NGO's. Joyous Kitchen contracts a number of NGOs who distribute meals to the poor and needy in Hong Kong.

Fellowship of Joyful Giving regularly contracts with Joyous Kitchen, particularly for holiday outreaches such as mooncakes for Mid autumn festival, dumplings for Dragon boat festival, and others.

How you can Help: Joyous Kitchen is primarily a training vehicle for “at risk” kids to develop not only job skills but to learn responsibility and working as a team. Joyous Kitchen would like to train 10 “at risk “ youth annually to all aspects of running a restaurant.

NEW BEING FELLOWSHIP
Oasis Dog Training and Grooming Facility

New Being Fellowship is a boys rehabilitation center based in Sai Kung.

In 2003 FOJG assisted New Being in setting up a dog training and grooming facility in Sai Kung.

Learning to train and groom dogs was deemed as a very good way to teach the New Being boys about responsibility and discipline. The incentive for the boys was if they successfully learned to train a dog , upon completion of the training they would own the dog as their pet.

As such with FOJG help the New Being Oasis center was launched providing dog training and grooming.

A major feature for Oasis’ clients was the dog swimming pool which provided a clean and safe alternative for dogs to swim rather than in the ocean.

Other operations which have been added are a coffee shop and a nursery for Sai Kung residents to grow plants. The coffee shop provides a chance for the New Being boys to interact with the community.

The plant nursery provides another means for income from rental of the garden space and another means for the boys to interact with the community. The boys responsibility is to water the plants and also provide security to insure that only the owners of the plot of garden space are picking the fruits and vegetables.

Over the 8 years of operation Oasys has helped many boys to build confidence and proficiency in caring for dogs and running a retail operation.

How you can help: Fellowship is fundraising now for funds to renovate the Oasys dog grooming facility and cafe . Besides necessary upkeep we would like to assist Oasys in marketing to an international community.

One of the Fellowship of Joyful Giving's latest initiatives is gathering volunteers to go out once a month to provide aid and comfort to street cleaners on Hong Kong Island. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our teams have provided masks, food and much-needed social interaction with the cleaners.

FoJG would like to give mooncakes to 1000 workers for Midautumn Festival. If you can help us, the projected cost is $52,000. Click here to support us.

Mooncakes will be ordered from Jubilee Kitchens to further support their social enterprise work.

For more information on how you can help and upcoming activities, reach out to Brian at bkusunoki@fojg.org.

Fellowship of Joyful Giving  has been a long standing partner of Hope of the City since their inception 10 years  ago. Hope is focused on the needs of families in Shamshuipo. whichi ia ono of the poorest areas in Hong Kong.  Fellowship has been a big provider of volunteer resources and as Hope expands more into providing work opportunities for the marginalised  Fellowship intends to play a part. click here

Po Leung Kuk has had a relationship with principals of FOJG for 21 years.  Po Leung Kuk is the largest orphanage and foster care home in Hong Kong.  Over the years FOJG has hosted weekly gatherings with kids which has evolved into ongoing mentoring. We are continually looking for opportunities to  engage, encourage and build self esteem.

One of the ways we build esteem is our annual sports day.

For the last 18 years FOJG hosts a Christmas sports outing giving the chidren opportunity to rock climb, roller blade,  play tennis and learn the true meaning of Christmas. It's a highlight every year and has spawned ongoing friendships between the Po Leung Kuk children and FOJG volunteers.

How you can help: If you are interested to volunteer, help with the Christmas outing or  provide training of any sort, please contact Brian at bkusunoki@fojg.org
